SMART Electrical Solutions
As New York State agencies continue to grow, evolve, and relocate between Downtown Albany and the Harriman State Office Campus, NYS OITS required a fiber infrastructure solution capable of supporting both current operations and future connectivity demands. Control Network Communications (CNC) partnered directly with NYS OITS to replace and enhance aging infrastructure and strengthen the fiber connection between the State's uptown and downtown facilities. The project included the installation of a 288-strand singlemode fiber optic cable extending from the NYS Harriman State Office Campus to Empire State Plaza, terminating at the C120 concourse-level communications space.
Services Provided:
Preconstruction Services Fiber network design and constructability support. Budget development. Project scheduling. Infrastructure consulting. Continuity planning. Existing pathway evaluation and planning. Construction Installation of 288-strand singlemode fiber optic backbone. Communications infrastructure. Security infrastructure. Coordination through existing State-owned pathways and facilities.
Control Network's Value Add:
CNC served as an integral technical partner throughout both preconstruction and construction, bringing extensive knowledge of fiber infrastructure and existing pathways into the design process. As project requirements and network design evolved, NYS OITS relied on CNC's expertise to evaluate options, identify practical routing solutions, and adapt the installation strategy in the field without compromising the long-term goals of the network. That collaborative approach allowed the team to successfully navigate a fluid scope while maintaining project momentum and ultimately exceeding NYS OITS' schedule expectations.
